The hop has many amazing card designers and artist with tons of inspirations to get you excited about coloring. Altenew carries plethora of color mediums to choose from and this blog hop definitely showcases all the different mediums you can use to create amazing cards and other art projects. Altenew is also having a giveaway and I have all the details for it a the bottom of this post.
If you have been following me for a while you know how much I love to color. Coloring is truly a form of therapy for me. I don't speak much about my anxieties and PTSD due to events that have happened in my life, but I have come a long way, most of the time feeling victorious. The greatest support in my life has been my husband, my faith, books and coloring.
Since "Audible the app" I love doing both of my favorite things together, listen and color.
Altenew has one of the best stamps and coloring mediums in my opinion for beginners as well as advanced crafters and artist. Apart form coloring products, Altenew has a ton of classes on various coloring techniques and coloring mediums , which I highly recommend you should check out.
For my card today I decided to use Altenew's Artist Marker refills. I love to experiment and play with all kinds of coloring mediums and the Artist Marker Refills work beautifully as a coloring medium on nonporous surfaces, like vellum, acetate etc....
I embossed the leaves from the Canopy Leaf Set on vellum and then die cut them using coordinating dies. I used a paint brush to pain in the leaves on the backside (non embossed side )using Artist Marker Refills. It almost looks like watercolor and I love the effect. In place of water I used plain rubbing alcohol to mix and move colors.
For the background of the leaves, I used the Deco Wallpaper Stencil with embossing paste. When the taste was dry I added gold metallic paints loosely with a lot of water to let it flow in its own way. The everything was dry add the vellum colored cluster of leaves on it.
I also want to show you some examples of flowers I colored form the Exotic blooms watercoloring and marker book sets. The yellow roses are colored using Artist Markers, The Red roses are colored using Altenew Woodless Color Pencils and the Daisies are colored using Altenew Artist Watercolor set.
I hope I have inspired you to get your coloring mojo on!!! Head on to the Altenew store for all these amazing coloring mediums, stock up on a few and get coloring. And when you color don't sweat it, just enjoy the process no mater the result. And never give up on coloring, the more you play with it the more it will teach you. You learn form your own process, your mistakes, failures and successes. The only way to learn coloring is by coloring!!!! Have fun on the blog hop next up is Joylita Dsouza
