I struggle to make guy cards and taking this card class from Altenew Academy gave me some real good ideas and techniques to make cards for guys. I got super excited and guess what I whipped up two cards. This card is taught by none other than Jennifer Razasa. She has put together some fun lessons in this class on how to make unique but easy cards for men in our lives.
For the first card, I was inspired by her lesson on making galaxy sky. I chose to do the same using the Gradient Sunset stamp and dies. I stamped the gradient stripes from this stamps set using hickory smoke distress inks onto a water color cardstock. I masked the edges of the stripes and water colored them using the Altenew Watercolors Pan set. After the painting was complete, I splattered some white acrylic paint to complete the galaxy look. Even after masking the edges the color seeped through and colored the gap between the gradient stripes. I took a glitter paper in white and cut into thin strips and adhered in between the gradient stripes,
I die cut the tree image from the same stamp set in black card stock to give it the silhouette with a galaxy sky behind it. I also stamped a few birds flying at a distance in Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and the sentiment using the same distress ink and jet black ink from Altenew. The galaxy circle was cut using the circle die from the cordianatind die set and adhered using foam tape on to a top folding white notecard. The trees is also adhered on the galaxy circle using foam tape
For my second card, I was inspired by geometrical shapes. I created a pixellated back ground using a square stamp from the Simple Shapes stamp set. I first blended some shades of orange and yellow horizontally onto a white cards stock. After the card stock was completely dry I used the same colors to stamp the square in gradient manner to give it that pixel look.
I die cut Happy Birthday from the Fine Alphabet dies in white cardstock and popped it using fun foam. I also die cut additional sentiment celebrate and you from the Label Love stamp set on white using jet black ink. I cut the sentiment strips close to the label without any white showing and popped it using foam adhesive over the die cut Happy Birthday. Because these are guy cards, I kept it simple and did not add any embellishments to them. I adhered the pixel panel onto a white side folding note card and I was done.
I amsure I will making more guy cards and posting it in the near future. I hope you enjoyed reading the card making process. Leave me some love. I will see you next time, until then keep shining and spreading some handmade love.
WOW! I am speechless. I really am!
Thank you for entering your absolutely fantastic cards to the AECP assignment gallery. Top job!
