Gold Embossed Floral High End Stationery

Hello Friends,

I am so excited to be guest designing for Waffle flower this month. The stamp I am showcasing is called the Bouquet Builder 6 illustrated by Karla Jodoin. One of my favorite things to do while traveling around the world is to stop by at local stationery stores. It is the love of Stationery that drew me to card making. In one of my travels to Japan, I walked in to this really high end stationery store. The cards were made on rich deep colors of silk and hand made rice papers. They were all hand painted using real gold details and some of them also had Swarovski crystals on them. The feel and look of the cards were just impeccable and luxurious , at a price point of around 150-200$ a card.

I made two cards replicating a similar style using the Bouquet Builder 6 set. Good Stationery always starts with good paper. For my card I chose Hero Arts Premium cardstock in a deep teal shade, this cardstock is smooth and heavy weight. I stamped one of the floral image from the stamp set using a SSS Embossing Ink Pad and embossed it with Brutus Monroe Guilded Gold Embossing Powder. The guilded gold embossing powder on a deep colored cardstock look very elegant and luxurious. For the first card I stamped the bottom half of the card and for the second card I stamped it all over the card creating a filigree background.

I colored few of the flowers and leaves using Fine-Tec Pearlescent Water Colors, which added a beautiful shimmer to the images. I also blended some Peacock Feather Distress Inks to the bottom of the first and all the around the edges of the second card. After the ink blending was done, I stamped the images once again using embossing ink to give a water mark effect in the background. The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Label Sentiment stamp and die set. Which was also stamped and embossed on the same teal shade of paper and die cut using a coordination die. I added Pretty Pink Posh Jewels in an Aqua shade to both the cards and I was done.

Tip: Keep in mind when making a card look high end, every little detail matters. Make sure your paper is cut very clean and the note card crease is crisp. If using a white cardstock it should look white and clean.

I was very happy how this turned out and plan to do more of this and give it as gifts to my sons's teachers. I hope you liked these cards. Leave me a comment on your thoughts, i really love reading them. I will see you next time until then keep creating and spreading handmade love.
