Midsummer Blues | SSS Wednesday Challenge

Ok so sometimes I have a tough time making just one card for a topic. When I start on a project my brain straits running in hundred directions and then I land up making multiple cards, and this is one of those day. SSS Wednesday Challenge for this week is called the Midsummer blues. It means we have to to add something blue to our project. I love blue, but seldom use it when making cards. If you me in person, I usually am in something in black but if it is not black then it is definitely blue. This Wednesday challenge helped me to break out of my shell and create using blue.

I made all the three cards using Pinkfresh studio's Floral Elements stamps and used the large floral wreath from this set. I also used Altenew Artist watercolor paints to color this floral wreath.

Soft Blue Wreath

Card 1:

I stamped the floral wreath on a watercolor cardstock and embossed it white. I colored the image with some bright blue paint change the saturation of the color as I painted the different elements of this stamps. When the paint was completely dry I added some foam adhesive and popped it over a cream top folding notecard on which I had splatter some black and blue paints.

The sentiment is from the SSS Beautiful Butterflies set.

Card 2:

I think card was a lot of fun to make. I panted a watercolor cardstock with some deep blue colored. I let it dry completely and then stamped and embossed Alenew's Shine Like A Diamond stamp in gold embossing powder. The floral wreath was embossed with gold on a watercolor card stock so I could use my Altenew Artist watercolors on them as well. I colored all the floral images in blue and the leaves in tones of grey.

I die cut the floral wreath with the coordinating die and adhered i to the gold embossed background using foam adhesive. The sentiments are from SSS Big Thanks Word stamp and die set. The thanks word was cut using gold mire card stock.

Card 3:

This card was the easiest of the three. I did some watercolor smooshing on a watercolor card stock which I cut to 3x51\2 when it was dry. I stamped the floral wreath on a vellum card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder, and die cut it using the coordinating die.

I adhered the wreath on the blue watercolor panel and popped this up on a kraft top folding note card with foam tape. Finally I added a bow with natural twine.
