Hello Friends ,
This is my last card for Altenew Academy's Level 1 classe. This is the Celebrating Stencil class taught by the very cheerful Laurel Beard. She has some amazing ideas and tip and techniques for using stencils. For my card I was inspired by coloring using the stencil.
I love the Dahlia layering stencil from Altenew. For my card today I used the Layer A stencil to make a faux glass mosaic card. I laid the stencil on to a thick cardstock here I am using the Neenah solar white 110lbs card stock as I will be using copic colors and lot of glossy accent.
To start I out lined the stencil using a black copic friendly pen. I then colored the flowers in shades of red and the background in shades of blu green. You can use any color combinations you like. The idea in my head was the glass mosaic art you see.
When we went to Spain was blown away by the Casa De Gaudi in Barcelona, which has so many mosiac art all over the house the colors and the details of it are magnificent . I love glass mosaic art a lot, they look so vibrant and sparkling, and my idea was to replicate something similar. After I had copic colored the flowers and the blue background it was time to fill in some "grout" in between my glass pieces. For the grout I used some warm shades of gray. I also added some texture to the grout by adding dot in the same warm gray colors. I also added some white tiny dots with a white gel pen.
After all the coloring was done I added Nuvo crystal glaze on top of the flower and the blue area to give it that glass feel. While the glaze was still wet, I added some gold fine glitter to add some shimmer and sparkle. This card looks so beautiful in real life, I tried my best to take pictures in many angles to show you the glass look, I hope yo can see a bit.
Anyways I hope you have enjoyed all the cards I have been posting for Altenew Academy and may be given a few classes a go yourself. Thank you for stopping and leaving me comments, see you next time until then share some love my loves.
