Thanksgiving Invite And Place Holder

Updated: Dec 10, 2020

Can't believe the year is almost coming to an end and we are getting closer to Thanksgiving. Today I have a project that will sure wow your guests this thanksgiving. I know it will be a very different Thanksgiving this year for many of us but that should never stop us from being thankful and celebrating it with family even if it is going to be virtual.

Every year for thanksgiving we invite people who don't have a place to go for Thanksgiving, May be from my husbands work place, church or we have also invited my Hair dresser one year to share a meal and a good fellowship. this has been a tradition for the last 20 some years. When we first came to the United States and were introduced to Thanksgiving we were very excited about a day kept aside for being thankful for family, friends, food and so many more blessings. But we were all by ourselves and no one to share the meal with, while it wasn't a big deal, we decided that moving forward every Thanksgiving we would invite someone who did not have a family to go , either because they were new to the place or have come newly to the country and have no idea what Thanksgiving is. But this year sadly we won't be doing that just to be safe for all our safety.

As I said earlier just because it is a little different it does not mean giving up on it. Our children were very disappointed not to have people over as it is their mission every year to put up a Thanksgiving play for guests who were new to the American Thanksgiving. I wanted this day to be still very special and full of gratitude so I decided to make invites to the dinner and put it in front of each of the kids rooms on Nov 1st and have them RSVP for a special night. I also made place holders for each of us with our names on it to set on the table.

I made the Place holder like a tiny card so each of us could write what we are thankful for inside it and put it in the basket at the end of the meal. Later in the evening we will pull out our cards and read what we are thankful for.

Please click on the image below to watch a video on how I made these.

I wish you a wonderful season filled with thankfulness and joy. Stay safe and stay blessed!!

I am listing all the products I have used to make this card project below. Some of the products listed below are an affiliate link which means I get paid a small percentage of the sale but with no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for you support.
