Also there is an amazing giveaway by Varada Sharma Designs , details about it is at the bottom of this post. Varada Sharma is also having a Giveaway on every blog stop, I have the details at the bottom of this post.
For the cards today, I chose to make three very different cards using the floral and the geometrical digital stamps from the Wings and Petals release. The only common factor in each of the card are the Distress oxide inks that I have used blend and color with. This release is packed with some really beautiful florals and butterflies and you can do a lot with it.
Card 1
For the first card, I took different floral images from the Blushing Bloom and Pretty Poppies digi sets and created a composition of clustered flowers. I also added the sentiment Big Hugs on it before I printed it.I then colored these images using distress oxide. The way I colored these flowers are more like dabbing the inks with you watercolor brush rather than painting with them like you would with watercolors. I wanted a texture look only images, so i chose to color on a regular Neenah Solar White 80lbs paper. The reason for this choice of paper was because I did not want the inks to blend and move smoothly as it would do on a watercolor paper. You need to keep in mind that this is not a paper that can take a lot of moisture so keeping the brush fairly dry is very important. Make sure to keep a paper towel handy to dab off excess water from your brush.
Once i was done with the coloring I added an additional sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments Digi stamp. The colored panel was then adhered to a soft gray notecard with foam tape to finish it.
Card 2:
This card was created using the funky square digi stamp. I printed the stamp onto a neenah solar white card stock to the size I wanted. I then ink blended the entire stamp in a rainbow order using Distress Oxide Inks. Once it was all well blended , I fussy cut each of the squares with a scissor and kept them aside. I tool a 8x3 inches white card stock and spritzed it with some gold ink. When the gold ink was all dry I arranged the cut pieces over this panel. I intentionally adhered each of these squares a bit wonky to go with the style of the digi stamp.
Finally adhered the couple of sentiments from the Heartfelt Sentiment set and popped this entire panel on to white slim line note card.
Card 3:
This card was by far my favorite one that I created. I enlarged the Funky Hexagon Digi stamps to fit into a 5x6 text box and printed it. I then ink blend it with two distress oxide inks. I used Tattered rose from the top and Speckled Egg from the bottom. Each of these Hexagons have two bordering lines which I cut as I did not want black line on the hexagons.
I printed the flower from the Blushing Bloom set and colored it using copics and fussy cut it. To put the card together , I adhere the hexagon the way I wanted using foam tapes on a white top folding notecard. I also cut a couple of gold glitter hexagons in the same size and shared them a well. I then popped up the flower over the hexagons and the sentiment was also popped up using foam adhesive to the right of the flower. I added some Nuvo Crystal drops in black to the center of the flower to add some dimensions.
I really enjoyed crafting these cards using all the beautiful digi stamps from the Wings and Petals release and hope I have inspired you to make cards using these stamps. Have a wonderful day and keep sharing handmade kindness and love. Next on the hop is the wonderful mugdhagujarathi
